Amazing Art
The art show is here! Volunteers bustled around carrying pictures and sculptures alike. Next, are parent came to admire our awesome, colorful artwork. We also came to see all the other kid's art work. Other than that, there were even real artists at the art show. There were face painters, sculptors, portrait drawers and other types of artists. Next, third grade put on a play for the parents. The gym was full of parents, kids and teachers, and the singing put everyone in a good mood. The art show will help us by encouraging us with our artwork. To wrap it up, the art show was a blast!

out of clay. If we make something out of clay Ms. Vernon will fire it (make it stay how it is permanitally). THe life connections we had were this will help us be more creative and learn about the tools we wuse like the clay. In awesome, artistic, art we finished our clay masks!

The Molding Faces Turned Ghostly
3-19-10
By: Shea and Ellyse
The mystery begins at...art! Our gray african masks have now turned ghostly white! "Boo!", yells Ms.Vernon. "Ahh!", we yelped back. "Your masks are not ghosts, they were baked in the kiln. This makes them harden", Ms.Vernon explained. That day we also got to dunk our masks into black paint. This helps us color the masks then we paint other colors over it for more excitement. Well, boo to you, for now.

Burning Art
By Quinn And Alex
The smell of smoke in the air. We used a wood burner to melt crayon shavings on our tree pictures for the leaves. Then to companion our pictures we did a haiku about our pictures. We did that so we know how to discribe something with a poem. The last thing we did was free draw. That is why we are burning art.

Burning on Watercolor
Sizzle, plop, sizzle, plop! That's the sound of the exitement happening in art. First of all, we are finishing painting
our watercolor pictures. The coolest part about it is the leaves on our trees. We put crushed crayon on the trees, then we
put wax paper on the crushed crayon, finally we take a wood burner and burn the crayon into the paper. Art fills our world with glory.

Watercolor Branches
Drip, splatter, masterpiece! In art we are learning how to make masterpieces using watercolors. Our main focus
is to paint a real live scene. We start out with riping tape and placing it on paper for a tree. Then, we paint over the tape
with the watercolors. Next, we peel the tape off and paint our tree. Art is like a pallete of fun!

Colorado Colors (and animals)

By Anna and Olive
In art we were working on abstract design. We finished up on our plant-men and have started the fawna and fowls of Colorado. We also made little Thanksgiving cards for family members. Every detail counts in art, wether it be in the background, the main part, or any others. So get a packet of colorado animals, a sharpened pencil, and a new blank pencil and start drawing!

Out pops a luminous butterfly seeing papers full of remarkable flowery art. In art the butterfly notices that we are finishing
our flaura filled faces. The paint we put on them is as shiny as a diamond. Most people are done so Mrs.Vernon has us drawing

A little flower here, a big flower there, oh, sorry, I didn't see you there. In art we have been working on symmetry. We are also using
something called radial design. We start with no face outline, just eyes, nose, and a mouth. We work outward using flora (plants).
We're stencil smart!!

Rainbow of art
Writen by Ellyse
We are learning to be careful where we draw. For example, draw in one direction to make the color look good. Another technique is to overlap. All of a sudden, a rainbow of art came through the door and Mrs. Vernon said, "Wow!" Mrs Vernon is the best art teacher!

Golden Rain
Written by: Ben and Dylan
There was golden rain falling from the sky and then a colorful rainbow appeared. We are drawing animals such as birds, reptiles, and land mammals. Once we are done tracing and coloring we can make an oil pastel background. The main objective is to overlap animals. We are doing this to make us better artists!

A Color Storm of Art
Written by: Bella and Jayden
We have painted up the school in art. We have been overlapping animals and putting designs in them. We used black paper to draw our animals and then we used gold markers to trace. After that we colored with colored pencils. Doing this can help us with being artists when we grow up. Ms. Vernon is great and art is awesome!

A Tornado of Laughter
Written by: Alex and Quinn
We are having fun in art making our animal drawings. When we are done planning our animal in our sketch book, we start drawing our gold animals on black paper. We are learning how to overlap, have good craftsmanship, to take time on our work, and to make our drawings bigger. That's what we are doing in art.

A Sparkle in Art
Written by: Sophia, Zach, and Logan

This week we did some rockin’ art. The first day Ms. Vernon talked about the rules. Then we watched a video about Lara Burch. She is an artist that demonstrated the technique of overlapping. We worked on overlapping animals. Overlapping makes your art look 3-D. Then we did funky faces that look like us except funkier. That was the sparkling, dazzling, wonderful day of art!
